About us
My name is Jeffrey van der Wal, I'm an indie game developer with a background primarily in web development. Over the past years, I've been working hard on a simulator/tycoon game centered around the creation of floats and parades š. This idea came to me during the Covid pandemic when parades worldwide were canceled, prompting me to develop a PC game for crafting your own spectacular float and parade experiences. The game, known as "Carnaval Simulator," which serves as a digital alternative for the celebration, has already gained recognition in international & regional media.
I am the sole developer of this game, and throughout the process I have learned a great deal. My love for cultures and languages is a major source of inspiration. I drew inspiration both from games like RollerCoaster Tycoon and from carnival and festival traditions around the world, including Mardi Gras, the Venice Carnival, our Burgundian Carnival, and the Rhineland Carnival. I have combined all these influences into a single game. To make the experience as authentic and immersive as possible, the game supports multiple languages spoken during these festivities. Even if you are not familiar with these traditions, the game is still accessible and enjoyable, thanks to its relaxed atmosphere and the many possibilities it offers, similar to other tycoon/simulator games.
